Exerpeutic 900XL Review

The Exerpeutic 900XL has a simple yet strong frame and a slew of other design features that is sure to put a smile on that face. If you want a silent, affordable and yet effective cardiovascular exercise machine, the Exerpeutic 900XL is definitely worth your while.

I have analyzed the features and performance, and going to discuss them on this Exerpeutic 900XL review.

Magnetic Resistance

The 900XL comes with 8 magnetic tension controlled resistance levels that you can change by simply turning the crank below the console. This is one of its minimalist and yet effective design enabling you to have an effectively varied workout session without all the fuss.

Variation is important for any home exercise equipment, but they need to have a relatively low noise. The 900XL is very silent that you can watch T.V. while using it and you will not have to crank up the volume just to hear what you are watching.

User-Friendly Monitor                                           Exerpeutic 900xl Extended Capacity Recumbent Bike with Pulse Review

The simple design of the 900XL spills over to its computer console with an LCD display that allows you to monitor various workout data like your current distance traveled, an approximate calculation of calories burned, time spent on the machine, the speed that you currently have, and heart rate reading of the last time you were gripping the pulse sensors on the handle bars.

The rather simple looking console is not one of the best features of the Exerpeutic 900XL, but it serves its purpose. With the price range that it is in, it is great to have a computer console at all.

Simply Strong

The slim design and lightweight materials of the Exerpeutic 900XL enabled the designers to produce a 63-lb. machine that is able to handle 300 lbs. maybe even more. Its official maximum capacity is at 300 lbs. but reviews mentioned that it has no problem supporting 325 lbs.

Being able to support almost 5 times its own weight is something that the 900XL can claim that other exercises machine even 5 times its price range cannot. This is a testament on how well built this equipment is.

User-Friendly

The Exerpeutic 900XL comes with a number of creature comfort features that you are sure to appreciate. It has an adjustable and well-cushioned seat and back rest for comfort. The handle bars are ergonomically designed to provide you the support that you need when you need it.

The step through design also makes it very easy to work with since you do not have to step over the whole thing before being able to use it. This is great for older people who just want to get some exercise. And when you are done, you can just roll it to the side using its two transport wheels.

Safety

The Exerpeutic 900XL has oversized stabilizers to make sure that you have a level and balanced platform even when you are pushing your workout to the limit. This is a great plus because when you crank the resistance to level 8, you really will have to push a bit harder to turn the pedals.

Another good safety feature is the large foot pads with the safety straps making sure that you have a secure footing on the pedals. This comes in handy when you are pushing and pushing on the pedals, the straps will keep your feet well in place.

PROS
  • Very affordable
  • Structurally strong and safe to use
  • Easy to move around
CONS
  • Hard to read LCD (not backlit)
  • Manual resistance controls
  • No preset workout programs
  • 3 year limited warranty

Final Thoughts

The Exerpeutic 900XL is not the best of the lot but is definitely not the worse. It does have minimal features compared to exercise machines five times its cost but for a home gym user, what the 900Xl does have just might be enough.

The 900Xl is worth buying if you do not need an exercise machine with all the bells and whistles. For its price, it is definitely a good buy. If you are looking for a starter equipment that will not burn a hole in your pocket, the Exerpeutic 900XL is a great choice to have.
