ProForm is part of Icon Health and Fitness, which is currently the largest retail fitness company. ProForm is known to have good quality equipment with mid-range prices., and The ProForm 710 E elliptical is one of the successful ellipticals on their product line.

ProForm 710 E Elliptical Review

It features a higher number of settings and weighs over 200 lbs and support up to 300 lbs. It has a commercial-gauge, solid steel construction. I have reviewed the features in details to put them all on this ProForm 710 E Elliptical review article.

20 Built-In Workout Programs

The 710 E has 20 pre-set programs designed by certified personal trainers that aim to give you the best workout. It has 10 performance workouts that target your resistance. They are great if you want to get more muscle tone and mass. 10 more programs are for maximum calorie burn.

20 Digital Resistance Levels

SMR (Silent Magnetic Resistance) allows you to seamlessly control the resistance of your workout sessions. Increasing and decreasing resistance allows you to have more of interval training for increased calorie burn or progressively increasing your resistance on every workout for more muscle mass and toning. The resistance can be adjusted by simply pressing the “+” or “-“signs in the computer console.

Adjustable Incline

Getting off the machine and manually adjusting the incline cuts your workout and decreases your progress. Having an automated control makes the ProForm 710 E a lot better this way. The incline can be set to any of the 5 settings (0, 5, 10, 15 and 20) which you can easily control by pressing your preferred setting. You can even change the settings mid-workout which allows you more options for muscle toning and resistance training.

Adjustable Stride Length

Stride length is one of the factors that make an elliptical trainer great. 18 inches is the length that mostly fits the majority of users. But the Proform 710 E gives you the capacity of switching stride lengths in case you want to make your workout more interesting. You will have 5 choices of stride length from 18 inches to 20inches with 0.5 inch increments.

Transport Wheels

The ProForm 710 E gives you a great advantage of moving it to any area in the house with its two transport wheels. This is one of the advantages that ProForm equipment bring to the table. Lifting a 200-lb equipment on your own is a back breaking task but rolling it from one place to another is a lot easier.

Whole Body Workout

The ProForm 710 E has two handle bars that you can grip which has some heavy duty foam for comfort. This allows you to work your arms and your core which gives you a more complete and balanced workout. The total body workout that it gives you makes it relatively easy to get that hourglass figure that you are aiming for.

Weight Capacity

The 710 E has a 300-lb capacity which is great because it shows the strength of its solid steel construction. Most people who are really trying to lose weight are about 300 lbs. or less so the 710E would be great for them. It weighs a tad over 200 lbs. so that shows that it is not mostly made of plastic like some elliptical trainers are.

Creature Comforts

The 710 E comes with a slew of other creature comfort features like a CoolAire workout fan to cool you down when you need it.

A great sound system that will allow you to listen to your favorite tunes to inspire you more.
A bottle holder so you can keep hydrated during those training sessions and a 5 inch backlit display that lets you monitor your progress.

  • Digitally controlled options (resistance and incline)
  • Great range of workout options
  • iFit compatibility
  • Adjustable stride
  • Safe and comfortable to use
  • Weak warranty
  • Design flaws and very hard to lubricate

Final Thoughts

The 710 E is a great machine depending on how you look at it. It does have a 300-lbs. capacity which is where most people who are actually trying to lose weight are. It does have some really good features for its price. The lifetime warranty on frame is great but the 1 year for parts and labor is not so much. With all these things considered, The 710 E is still worthy buy if used properly.
